TAR UC Students Awarded Merit Prizes for E-Genting Competitions 2016

Six TAR UC students were awarded Merit Prizes recently for E-Genting Competitions held in 2016. The prize winners each received a certificate of achievement and a cash prize of RM200.

For the E-Genting Programming Competition (EGPC) 2016, the students who won the merit prizes were

  • Tan Ngiap Jun, a Diploma in Science (Information Systems Engineering) Year 2 student,
  • Voon Chi Cheng, a Bachelor of Information Technology in Software Systems Development Year 2 student, and
  • Yee Jian Lam, a Bachelor of Information Technology in Software Systems Development Year 3 student.

The E-Genting Programming Competition is an annual programming competition organized by E-Genting. In the EGPC 2016 that was held on 12 November 2016, close to 160 participants comprising undergraduates and working adults turned up for the competition. Yu Hang Jie, a TAR UC graduate of the Bachelor of Information Technology in Software Systems Development, was awarded a distinction prize which includes a cash prize of RM500.

For the E-Genting Bug Hunt (EGBH) 2016, which was held on 13 November 2016, the merit prize winners were

  • Ching Richard, a Bachelor of Information Technology in Software Systems Development Year 3 student,
  • Koh Ping Weng, a Bachelor of Information Technology in Software Systems Development Year 3 student, and
  • Kok Yong Shun, a Bachelor of Computer Science in Software Engineering Year 3 student.

The EGBH is E-Genting’s annual software testing competition which is also opened to undergraduates and working adults. For the EGBH 2016, more than 60 participants attended the event.

The winners for both competitions were announced during the E-Genting Prize Presentation that was held on 14 January 2017.
